Crown Point: Liberal Studies

Program Requirements

In the Associate of Arts in Liberal Studies program, you will fulfill the general education requirements of the University of Saint Francis by exploring various courses in social and natural sciences, humanities, religious studies and math. You will also take an additional 24 credit hours in concentrations of your choice. You may select areas such as healthcare, business, theology, history or other areas. Beyond this, you will take another nine to 10 hours of electives to further explore liberal studies or pursue additional interests.

As many college programs narrow their focus or develop programs in technical skills, the number of true liberal arts colleges and interdisciplinary degree programs are decreasing nationwide. This is occurring despite a growing number of students expressing an interest in these programs and graduate schools seeking students who have completed these programs. USF Crown Point’s program derives from a foundation in the traditions of classic university education and allows you the flexibility to design your own curriculum as you complete your degree.
